The City of Johannesburg (CoJ)

The City of Johannesburg’s Department of Economic Development’s (DED) Trade and Investment Directorate, in collaboration with the Johannesburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI), has established the Export Development and Capacitation Programme in a low-growth economic environment. This initiative, underpinned by the new Trade Council, aims to streamline export development and promotion activities to enhance the City’s global competitiveness. The primary objective is to create an enabling environment for exports, thereby reducing barriers to economic growth and providing robust support to SMMEs seeking to expand into international markets. The Trade Council works in close collaboration with relevant industry associations, financial institutions, and other chambers to ensure synergy and effectiveness.
